Movie Reviews and Great Reading

Congratulations! The Promos are finally over and, even though you still have PW to work at, the school semester is fast drawing to a close. You're probably wondering about how you can occupy the many leisure hours you have now, and will have a lot more of in a few weeks' time. You're probably also thinking of what movies to watch, or what books or online material to read.

I shall be posting more recommendations from time to time, but here are a few to begin with:
Where I usually go for movie reviews: Rotten Tomatoes
Where I have confidence in finding at least one really interesting and serious article to read: Arts and Letters Daily
A few fascinating and illuminating books that I've read in the past two years: Freakonomics, The Undercover Economist, The Naked Economist, Life At the Bottom, and The War Against Boys
One of my favourite essays of all time: "Learning in war-time" by CS Lewis (no complete text but an extended quote to hopefully whet your appetite; the essay can be found in The Weight Of Glory and Other Essays).
